Ghana could play their second international friendly against Nicaragua without two key players due to injury.
Black Stars duo Tariq Lamptey and Alexander Djiku are injury doubts for Ghana's all-important Pre-World Cup friendly against Nicaragua on Tuesday evening.
The Black Stars of Ghana will be hoping to make amends against the Central American nation after losing to 3-0 to Brazil on Friday.
The two defenders did not train with the squad on Monday and may miss the international friendly against the 139th-ranked nation at the Estadio Francisco Artés Carrasco in Lorca, Spain.
Djiku played the entire game as Ghana lost 3-0 to Brazil on Friday, while Lamptey, a former England youth international, made his Ghana debut in the second half.
“Djiku has a little pain so he went to the doctor for a checkup. We have to wait for the results and Tariq at the warmup felt a little something so he decided to say we have to watch out. He will be assessed later after training. We hope that it’s nothing serious and I hope that he can play tomorrow,” Addo said.
Ghana will play Nicaragua at Estadio Francisco Artés Carrasco in Lorca on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
The game forms part of Ghana’s preparation for the FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar.
The Black Stars are aiming to record a resounding victory on Tuesday to put smiles on the face of Ghanaians following Friday night’s disappointing showing against Brazil in Le Harve.
