The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante-Twum, has provided clarification regarding the buses recently distributed to clubs in the Ghana Premier League and Division One League.

As part of its ongoing efforts to support teams, the GFA distributed buses to nine Division One clubs across the three zones on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium. Among the recipients were clubs such as Young Apostles, Okwahu United, New Edubiase United, Basake Holy Stars, and Vision FC.

However, following the distribution, a video surfaced on social media showing the buses with worn interiors, raising concerns about their condition. In response, Asante-Twum clarified the situation, stating that the clubs had been informed in advance that the buses were not brand new, although the condition of the buses may have caused some misunderstandings.

"Clubs were aware the buses were not brand new," Asante-Twum explained on Game Plan on Joy FM. "I think the problem stemmed from their condition. It's unfortunate that some of the buses were not in good shape. It was never the intention of the GFA to provide buses that would create problems for the clubs instead of assisting them."

Asante-Twum also confirmed that the remaining buses for other clubs are still at the Tema Harbour awaiting clearance, and the GFA will continue to address any concerns moving forward.
