Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan acknowledges Andre Ayew’s contributions but supports Black Stars squad evolution.
Gyan backs coach Otto Addo’s decision to exclude Ayew from upcoming World Cup qualifiers, emphasizing the need for team development.
The exclusion of Ayew, who had been part of previous squads, has generated mixed reactions.
"For me, Andre has done so much for Ghana. He started way back in 2007 and he has been consistent in the national team. He is the most capped player," Gyan told Joy Sports.
Gyan recognizes Ayew’s long-standing commitment to the national team but believes it’s time to move forward.
"The coach has made his decision. Personally, I played with Andre and he has done everything for Ghana but this is the situation whereby we have to move on," Gyan stated
Despite being left out, Ayew had a successful season in France, scoring five goals and aiding Le Havre in avoiding relegation.
