Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Prof. Peter Ofori Twumasi has disclosed they are very much concerned about Asante Kotoko's early exit from the CAF Champions League.

The 'Kum Apem' outfit got evicted from the competition over the weekend after losing to Burkina Faso champions RC Kadiogo- a tie they had emerged victors of the first leg a week prior.

The Baba Yara Stadium that hosted the game was really in a poor state prior to the commencement of the competition but NSA put in extra efforts, having suspended some activities to get it in a good shape to host all Kotoko matches throughout the campaign.

However, the first preliminary round elimination means the Porcupine Warrior's African campaign in the 2022/23 football season is over and will have to wait for next season.

Speaking to Kumasi-based OTEC FM, Prof. Peter Twumasi has expressed their grievances and admitted they really wanted to see the Ghanaian champions journey far in the biggest club football competition on the continent.

"The national sports Authority is very worried and disappointed about Asante Kotoko's exit from the CAF Champions League competition."

"We are worried because we've fully prepared the stadium for them to use through their Africa campaign. This is very unfortunate" He added

The Kumasi Sports Stadium will still host the Super-Clash between the two most glamorous clubs in the country- Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak this Sunday, September 25, 2022.
