English-born defender, Tariq Lamptey has opened up on his feelings of pride after training with the Black Stars ahead of Brazil friendly.
The Brighton and Hove Albion right-wing back, who switched his international allegiance to represent the West African nation last month, is expected to make his debut against Brazil in an international friendly on Friday.
Lamptey has said that he is proud to be part of the senior national team of Ghana.
“I am very proud to be here and I am really determined to train hard, give the best as I can and I looking forward to the game on Friday” Lamptey said in an interview with the Ghana FA Media.
“In this game you have to prepare very well, you prepare based on how you want to play and we already excited and looking forward to play against the team on Friday.”
“I am just really excited to come here and get to work. I am very happy and looking forward to the game.”
Lamptey was born to Ghanaian parents in UK and announced his decision to play for Ghana at the senior level despite representing England at the U19 and U21 sides.
He earned his first-ever call-up to the four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions by Otto Addo for this month's international friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.
Ghana will face Brazil on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Stade Oceane Le Havre.
