Former player of Sekondi Hasaacas FC, Kwabena Baidoo has tragically died following a horrific accident in the Western Region of Ghana, while celebrating the victory of Kukua Bissue, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate in the Ahanta West Constituency.

 

 

The promising footballer was involved in a gory accident on Saturday night, December 7, which resulted in his immediate death.

 

 

His brother, Emmanuel Quarm, confirmed the devastating news in an interview with Takoradi based Connect 97.1 FM, describing it as a heartbreaking loss for the family.

 

 

“Kwabena was overjoyed because his candidate won at his polling station,” Quarm said.

 

 

“On his way to the collation center, he was involved in an accident. His motorbike crashed, and he hit his head on the road. He was rushed to the Axim Government Hospital but sadly passed away early Sunday morning."

 

 

The news of Baidoo's death has sent shockwaves through the football community, with fans and colleagues expressing their condolences to his family. 

 

 

During Ghana’s 2024 general elections, John Dramani Mahama annexed 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total valid votes cast, against Bawumia’s 4,657,304 votes, which represented 41.61%, in the elections.
