The Black Satellites of Ghana recorded their first win in the ongoing TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations after a narrow 1-0 win over Senegal last Monday night

The Satellites after sharing spoils with DR Congo in the first game, came all out this time in search of the three points to enhance their qualification chances

Norwegian-based attacker Emmanuel Mensah's solo finish in the 15th made the difference after receiving a sumptuous pass from Jerry Afriyie

In a post-match presser, the enterprising tactician heaped praises on his lads for being tactically discipline and that was after he had admitted it was a very tough encounter

He further expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their unending support so far and added it has really had a positive impact on the entire squad

"It was a very difficult game, no doubt about that. But tactically, I believe we got it right,” Coach Ofei said.

"Senegal came at us with a very direct and physical approach. It wasn’t easy, but our players showed great tactical discipline and fighting spirit throughout the game."

"The boys followed the game plan, stayed organized, and gave everything on the pitch. That’s all you can ask for as a coach."

"We want to thank all the fans and Ghanaians back home. Your support means everything to us — we feel it all the way out here,” the Ghana U20 coach said.

The Black Satellites are currently in second place in Group C with four points after two games and will Central African Republic next on Thursday, May 8, 2025
