Ibrahim Tanko, the coach of the Black Meteors, expressed his delight at the presence of Chris Hughton, the coach of the Black Stars, in Morocco.

Hughton, a former manager in the Premier League, is offering technical support to the Black Meteors as they strive to qualify for the Olympic Games, a feat that has eluded Ghana for many years.

Hughton was present at the Moulay Abdellah Sports complex in Rabat when Ghana secured a 3-2 victory over Congo in their first game of the tournament. Tanko acknowledged Hughton's presence and shared that they interact on a daily basis, as Hughton is the head coach of the senior national team.

Tanko expressed his satisfaction with Hughton's involvement, emphasizing that the players are striving to reach the senior team, and having Hughton's presence is a source of happiness for the team.

“We are happy to have him here. He is with us in the hotel. Definitely, we are speaking each day. So, yes, he is the head of the senior national team. These boys are playing to get there, so I am happy that he is here,” Tanko said post-match.

Despite Ghana initially dominating the match with a comfortable 3-0 lead, two late goals from Congo created a tense ending to the game.
