Dutch-born of Ghanaian descent Memphis Depay paid a surprise visit to the reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday evening after their final game of the 2021/22 season against Accra Lions.

Depay, who is currently in Ghana for holidays and philanthropic works, took time off his busy schedules to meet players, technical and management members of Asante Kotoko at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra

He interacted with the playing body and technical during the short meeting where he congratulated them for clinching their 24th Premier League title.
 
The FC Barcelona striker arrived in Ghana earlier this week to commissioned a newly-built lavatory fully-funed by him for students of the school for the deaf and blind in Cape Coast.
 
Depay has been visiting Ghana at the end of every season in the past three years. 
 
His arrival in Ghana is to enjoy his vacation while continuing with his support for the less privileged in the country. Depay has been visiting Ghana at the end of every season in the past three years.
 
The 28-year-old had an incredible debut season with Barcelona, where he scored 12 goals in 28 matches.
 
Depay is expected to return to Spain next month to begin pre-season with the Catalan giants.
