The passing of former Black Stars player Christian Atsu has deeply saddened the football community and Ghanaians as a whole.
During his funeral today, Atsu's former teammates and colleagues from his time as a winger for Hatayspor were overcome with emotion as they gathered to pay their final respects.
Sammy Kuffuor, a legend of the Black Stars, was particularly affected and was seen shedding tears at the event. Dressed in black, Kuffuor sat among his colleagues and lowered his head into his hands in grief.
Another former teammate, John Paintsil, was also in attendance, dressed in red and bowing his head in mourning for an extended period. He too was unable to hold back his tears for his beloved friend.
