Ghana's Black Queens got off to an impressive start in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over Guinea's Female Syli Nationals in Conakry on Friday.

The scoring was initiated by Vivian Adjei Konadu in the 19th minute, capitalizing on a goalkeeping error and delivering a powerful strike to open the scoring.

In the 27th minute, Evelyn Badu provided an accurate pass to Grace Asantewaa, who skillfully delivered a precise cross to Jennifer Cudjoe on the right flank. Doris Boaduwaa connected with Cudjoe's cross, doubling Ghana's lead.

Just before halftime, Guinea's Camara Manet received her second yellow card, leaving her team with only 10 players for the remainder of the match.

In the 72nd minute, Mary Amponsah set up Evelyn Badu, who remained composed and slotted the ball into the net, extending Ghana's lead to 3-0.

Stella Nyamekye of Dreamz Ladies, who made her senior debut in the 80th minute, came close to scoring, narrowly hitting the crossbar in the final moments of the game.

With this impressive result, the Black Queens have taken a significant step towards advancing to the second round of the qualifiers. The return leg is scheduled to be held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
