The former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide has promised to facilitate trips for residents of Asuogyaman to witness the 2026 FIFA World Cup of they elect him as their Member of Parliament.
The parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) made this pledge during a campaign tour in the constituency this month.
He assured the youth that he would help them secure opportunities abroad if they supported his bid in a viral video.
To bolster his appeal, Hadzide recalled the controversial Australia visa incident during his tenure at the sports ministry, where he successfully arranged for individuals to travel to Australia for the Commonwealth Games.
"I sent people to Australia. From Ghana to Australia is 18 hours, however, I managed to take people there," he said.
"The next World Cup will be played in America. The USA is just 7 hours away. Ladies and gentlemen, if you want your children to travel to America to work and bring money home, then you should vote for me. If you are a youth here and you want to travel, vote for me. Me, Puis I will facilitate your trip," he assured.
Hadzide also extended his promise to those seeking opportunities in other countries, saying, "If you are a youth who wants to travel to Germany, America, the UK, France or anywhere in the world vote for me and I will also help you."
