Ghana have clinched the third spot of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after beating South Africa 4-3 via penalty shootouts after a 1-1 draw in regulation time 

The Queens made an explosive start and had two clear cut chances to score from a close range but Doris Boaduwaa and Alice Kusi couldn’t make it count 

Despite dominating the game and deserved to be in the lead, South Africa nipped on a huge clanger from goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan to open the scoring account courtesy Ntandi 

Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren made two quick substitutions in the early stages of the second half hoping to conjure magic

Evelyn right on her introduction was served with a huge opportunity after a great cross from the right but her header went wide off the crossbar for a goal kick 

Finally, in the 67th minute, the Black Queens finally got the equalizer courtesy Alice Kusi who connected with a towering header from a decent cross from Chantelle Hlorkah 

In the dying embers, Evelyn Badu was put through in a one on one situation but Evelyn Badu unluckily had her effort went off the crossbar as it finished 1-1 in regulation time 

The game travelled straight to penalty shootouts and Ghana won 4-3 in the end to clinch the third spot
