Black Stars captain, Jordan Atew has sent words of encouragement to the Black Queens ahead of their penultimate clash against host nation Morocco later tonight in what will be a very cagey semi-final encounter of the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations
The Black Queens despite a shaky start to the competition have now found their rhythm after beating Algeria in the final via penalty shootouts to cruise into the last four nation, thanks to two stops by goalkeeper Cynthia Findib Konlan
The Atlas Lionesses however, also emerged as winners of Group A in the first round and topped with a resounding 3-1 win over Mali in the quarter-final and will definitely approach this game with so much dedication with their ‘host and win’ ambition being their huge motivation
After Kudus Mohammed, the next Black Stars player to throw his support behind the Queens is skipper Jordan Ayew who has assured the entire team of having Ghanaians behind them and so should go all out for nothing but a victory tonight
“To my sisters, the Black Queens! I’m beyond proud of the way you’ve represented Ghana on the biggest stage. Your determination, skill and teamwork are an inspiration to us all.
“As you prepare to take on Morocco in the semi-finals, I want you to know that the entire Ghanaian football family is behind you. We’re rooting for you and we believe in your ability to make history. Go out there, give it your all and make Ghana proud.”
The game is slated for 19:00GMT (7:00pm) at the Stade Olympique in the capital, Rabat
