Captain of the Black Starlets, Joseph Narbi said they are adequately poised and ready for the upcoming WAFU Zone U-17 Championship and has assured Ghanaians of making them proud.
The two-time world champions have been in camp for over a month and engaged in some intensive training sessions at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram but arrived in Côte d’Ivoire days ago for the tournament
The Black Starlets will open their campaign against Togo on Saturday, September 20, at 18:00GMT (6:00pm)
Speaking ahead of the game, the Benab FC attacker stated they are up for the task and have a strong technical team who are helping them to continue improving.
“We are ready for Togo. The training sessions have gone very well and everyone is focused on the task ahead,” he said.
“Our coaches have prepared us well. We’ve worked on our strengths and improved on areas that needed attention. We’re determined to make the country proud,” he added.
They will face host Ivory Coast on Tuesday, September 23, also at 18:00 GMT and wrap up the group stage against Niger on Friday, September 26, at 15:00 GMT. All matches will be staged at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro
This competition will serve as qualification to the next CAF Africa U-17 Cup of Nations
