Marketing Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Jamil Maraby, has indicated that their main objective is to empower the various domestic clubs to be self-sufficient.
Multiple clubs from the top to the lower tier leagues have expressed worries about the Ghana FA's inability or unwillingness to support them.
However, speaking to Citi Sports, Maraby recognized the challenges clubs go through, notably in securing sponsorships.
"We want the clubs to be self-sustainable, the clubs understand how to manage themselves and how to generate their revenue, we have to empower them," he said.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Premier League is set to restart on March 7. The Ghanaian top flight has been suspended following the gruesome stabbing of Asante Kotoko fan Nana Pooley during the Porcupine Warriors match against Nsoatreman FC.
