Former Ghana striker Yaw Preko has dive into the conversation on why foreign born footballers find it hard to acclimate to the Black Stars.

In spite of their outstanding performance and achievements in their respective clubs, a significant portion of these non-native players find it nearly impossible to recreate their explosive form' donning the Ghana jersey during international matches.

“There are several factors behind their struggles. They need to understand our culture, and our passion for the game is different from what they are used to in Europe," Preko stated.

"Antoine Semenyo is one of the best, and if we use him well, he can be very effective. But you can’t compare how he plays in Europe to Africa. Even a top player like Salah struggles with Egypt because the African terrain is different."

Ghanaians usually complain bitterly about the form of players like Antoine Semenyo and Spanish-born Inaki Williams. Semenyo has 25 caps under his sleeves and notched two goals for the Black Stars.

Willaims on the other hand, having pledged allegiance to Ghana in 2022, he has scored just one goal in 17 appearances.
