Former Ghanaian international, Samuel Johnson, known as 'Foyoo', has fired some Black Stars players and has asked them to decline the call-ups if they ain't willing to be committed to the senior national team from henceforth.

Ghanaians have recently questioned the commitment of the current Black Stars players and said the performance they give when they are with their various clubs isn't what they replicate in the national colours.

However, majority have also made claims that, this normally happens because players are always ignored by the government and GFA when they sustain injuries while on national duty.

Premising their arguments to what happened to players like Michael Essien, Jerry Akaminko, Thomas Partey, recently Joseph Aidoo and others in recent years.

Speaking on this issue, Sam Johnson said players with such nonsensical idea should abondone the national team since that's better than honouring and not giving your all in what could lead to a huge heartbreak among the Ghanaian football supporters.

“For me personally I know what they can do, but they don’t do it. They don’t do what we know they do best. They don’t show it to us when they come here," he said.

“What kills me is that when people are saying when they get injured who is going to take care of them.”

“Excuse me, but that is nonsense. This is your job and that is what you choose to do," he fumed.

"You either do it or you leave it. So if you know you will come and you will get injured and Ghana won’t take care of you then resign from the national team or don’t come at all.”

The Black Stars will regroup in few weeks from now to take on Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sam Johnson spent nine years with the national team and made over 40 appearances.
