Laryea Kingston, head coach of the Black Starlets, is determined to lead Ghana's under-17 squad to triumph in the upcoming 2024 U17 WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations, aiming to break the nation's two-time absence from the tournament.

After finishing as runners-up in 2017, their last participation, Kingston is singularly focused on readying his team for the forthcoming challenge.

Fresh from their stint at the 2024 UEFA U16 Invitational tournament in Russia, Kingston stresses the need for unwavering focus and motivation.

"Immediately we finished the game against Kazakhstan, we put it in their head that this is over,” Kingston said.

"Now the most important tournament is coming up. We are working and no one is stepping off the treadmill. We are on the treadmill because we have a mission.”

The Black Starlets kick off their campaign against Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday, May 15, with hopes of clinching victory and progressing towards AFCON qualification. Their subsequent clash is against Benin six days later.

With their eyes fixed on reclaiming U17 WAFU Cup of Nations glory, Kingston and his squad are poised to leave it all on the field.
