President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has applauded referee Daniel Laryea, describing him as one of the most outstanding match officials on the African continent.

Speaking in an interview with Asaase Radio, Okraku highlighted Laryea’s rapid rise and consistent performances on the international stage.

“We have one of the best referees on the African continent in Daniel Laryea,” he said.

Laryea was Ghana’s only officiating representative at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he handled two matches, including the high-profile semi-final encounter between Morocco and Nigeria. His display during the tournament further strengthened his reputation among the continent’s elite referees.

The FIFA-listed official has also been trusted with several key fixtures in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup this season, continuing to earn appointments in high-stakes continental games.

On the local scene, Laryea recently took charge of the much-anticipated Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in Kumasi, underlining his standing as one of the most dependable referees in Ghanaian football.
