President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has appealed to Ghanaians to continue backing Otto Addo, commending the national team coach for leading the Black Stars to successive FIFA World Cup qualifications.
Addo, who is in his second spell in charge, returned to guide the national side through another successful qualifying campaign after previously steering Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He has now overseen the team’s progress to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming the first Ghanaian coach to achieve that feat twice.
Speaking to Asaase Radio, Okraku praised the coach’s accomplishment and called for respect and unity behind the technical team.
“Otto Addo is the only Ghanaian to have qualified the Black Stars for two World Cups. Let’s respect and support him for that. He’s done well,” he said.
As part of efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the global tournament, the GFA has bolstered the technical bench with several new appointments. Assistant coaches Alain Ravera, Kim Grant, and Kim Lars Björkegren have joined the setup, alongside analyst José Daniel Martínez Alfonso and performance coach Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi.
The additions are expected to enhance the team’s tactical preparation, data analysis, and physical conditioning as Ghana builds momentum towards the competition.
