The technical advisor of the Black Stars, Winfried Schäfer is optimistic the team is still capable of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The senior national team has encountered a torrent of criticism after missing out on qualification to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
With the World Cup qualifiers set to resume later this month, the Black Stars are second in Group I with nine points - Ghana will take on Chad and Madagascar.
Speaking with the Ghana FA media, Schäfer stated that Ghana could qualify for the mundial, which will come off in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
“I was a bit surprised President (Kurt Okraku) called me for a meeting. I met him in Manchester, it was a very good meeting. We have to go to the World Cup (in) 2026. When we work all together, I think it is possible," he stated.
“We have to go into the next two matches with confidence and a winning mentality," the German tactical brainy added.
The Black Stars will face Les Sao of Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, at 19:00 GMT before flying out to Morocco to slug-it-out with Madagascar at the Grand Stade d'Al Hoceima on March 24.
