Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has reiterated that, they still haven't decided as to whether Thomas Partey will play at the AFCON or not but are still in talks with the Ghana FA on his availability.
The 29-year-old was included in coach Chris Hughton's provisional 55-man squad and is expected to make the final cut, having recovered fully from his recent injury.
Despite joining his teammates at the Colney training grounds, he is yet to return into action and the last time he played for his club was against Manchester City in October.
Speaking in a pre-match presser ahead of their game against West Ham United tonight, the Spaniard said Partey is fit but could return in January and they are still holding talks with GFA and haven't confirmed he will be at the AFCON or not.
"We're in talks with the federation. There are some talks between the clubs and federations. We haven't decided when is best."
Ghana have been housed in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will commence on January 13, 2024, and will be held in Cote D'Ivoire.
