Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Slavko Matic believes they bowed out of the FA Cup due to hard luck since they were the better side in the round 32 tie against Dreams FC over the weekend.

The holders suffered a heartbreaking 0-1 home loss to the 'Still Believe' outfit to exit the league cup- a competition they have conquered in the last two seasons.

Agyenim Boateng's early nine-minute lead was the only difference with Hearts of Oak missing two penalties in the closing moments of the game- an opportunity to send the game to penalty shootouts.

Speaking in a post-match presser, the Serbian tactician stated they deserved the penalty given since there was a push on his player in the box but added injuries and also hard luck caused their defeat.

"We had problems before the game, on the pitch too we had problems. We had to change Addo because he had a potential serious injury and I hope it’s not. After that I change Salifu who’s responsible for penalties. I mean things happen just like that and I must make two changes because of injury and Salifu who must take penalty was outside,” he told StarTimes after the game.

“We deserved the penalty, we pushed. We made lot of attacks. We had lot of the ball in our legs but at the end we didn’t score. Hard luck, we continue."
