Black Stars attacker Jordan Ayew has urged Ghanaians to be patient with the current crop of players at the senior national team after a poor performance in the October international friendlies.

Ghana wrapped up their friendlies in this month with a 4-0 embarrassing defeat to the United States of America at the GODIES Park in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday morning.

A first half brace from Giovanni Reyna and other goals from Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun aided the North Americans to humiliate Chris Hughton and his charges.

However, Ayew stressed in a post match interview that most of the current players at the Black Stars are inexperienced and will need time to gel.

“First of all, I feel like we need a bit of time because it is a new group with a lot of new players and most of the players are inexperienced so it is not easy but we are working on it because we know we don't have time and these type of game is a reality check,” Ayew told reporters.

The four-time African champions will now focus on their World Cup qualifiers against in November.

Ghana will begin the qualification round against Madagascar on November 13 and Comoros on November 21 before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D'Ivoire next year.
