Black Stars striker, Inaki Williams has disclosed that, they are going to offer all they could to make themselves and the entire country proud ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The lanky forward following his explosive form Atletico Bilbao and finally getting his debut goal for Ghana against Madagascar in November, made coach Chris Hughton's final squad for the AFCON.
He is currently having eleven goal-involvements in the Spanish La Liga so far this season; having scored eight and registered three assists.
The 29-year-old arrived in Kumasi last Thursday to join the Black Stars camp and is most likely he will feature against Namibia tomorrow in a pre-AFCON friendly.
Speaking ahead of the much-anticipated tourney, Inaki, has admitted other nations will make it really difficult but they will also play their hearts out to make the country happy and proud.
"Then we'll see. Ghana is one of the countries with the most titles - four, the last in 1982 - and we know that we are one of the candidates, but it's not easy. There are very powerful teams."
"They have quality players and a coach who has made them shine in the World Cup, and they are in a moment of high confidence. Then there are Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt..., but in African football, anything could happen. Hopefully, we can perform well, and our people feel proud," he expressed.
Ghana have been housed in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
They will kickstart their campaign against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde on January 14, in Abidjan.
