Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams has disclosed that the government will soon launch a new program to upgrade football pitches through surface quality and overall condition across the various local communities.

Adams, who was speaking at the KGL Foundation Black Stars sponsorship event stated that the purpose behind the move will focus on developing and promoting grassroots football by making sure that footballers across the nation benefit from well-maintained sports facilities.

“We want to see community pitch that if a player is playing in my village on a pitch when he moves to say the capital of the region or the capital of the country and he gets the big pitch there should not be much difference," Adams stated.

"The only difference will be the stadium ambience but for the pitch we want to make sure that the pitches are quality at the community level so we are going to be launching the program very soon."
