Black Stars coach Otto Addo has called for a strong response from the players as they prepare to face Germany in their second friendly in the March international window.

The Black Stars head into the game looking to bounce back after their heavy 5-1 defeat to Austria, a result that has drawn criticism but also provided key lessons for the technical team.

Speaking ahead of the clash, the ex- Dortmund trainer downplayed the scoreline against Austria, insisting the game was more balanced than the result suggested and highlighting the chances his side created.

“The result against Austria was not as big as it was… it could have been 1-1. I’m hopeful my strikers can show it again tomorrow that they can score goals,” he said.

The enterprising gaffer also reminded his players of their ability to recover from difficult situations, pointing to past setbacks as motivation for a better performance.

“In the past we’ve been in worse situations like not qualifying for the AFCON but we came back strong. I reminded the boys on that and we’ve agreed on a number of things we have to do better,” he added.

The game is slated for 18:45GMT (6:45pm) on Monday, March 30, at the MHP Arena.
