Aduana FC Chief Executive Officer Collins Atta Poku has questioned the need for Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku to seek a third term, insisting that the focus should instead be on addressing the deep-rooted challenges confronting Ghana football.

Debate over Okraku's future has intensified following reports that the GFA president could contest the 2027 elections after delegates approved constitutional amendments in 2025 extending the presidential term limit from two to three four-year terms.

The amendment, which was passed at the GFA Congress held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, made Okraku eligible to seek another mandate should he decide to do so.

However, speaking in an interview with Ahenfie FM, Atta Poku dismissed the growing discussion over a possible third term, arguing that the priority should be restoring the fortunes of Ghana football rather than focusing on leadership tenure.

"I don't want to hear the third-term conversation. What is there again to be done?" he questioned.

The Aduana FC chief executive also raised concerns about the Football Association's ability to drive the reforms needed to revive the domestic game, calling for a broader approach that gives local football communities a stronger voice in the sport's development.

"The GFA lacks the capacity to lead the reforms Ghana football needs. To get the game back on its feet, we must give communities a genuine sense of ownership and belonging," he added.

The race to succeed—or potentially re-elect—the GFA president is expected to dominate discussions in the lead-up to the association's elections in October 2027.

Several prominent football administrators and personalities have already been linked with the contest, including former GFA Executive Council member Samuel Annim Addo, former Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association chairman Ralph Gyambrah, Karela United CEO Elloeny Amande, former Black Stars captain André Ayew and former GFA vice-president George Afriyie.

Okraku, who has led the GFA since his election in October 2019, is yet to officially confirm whether he will seek another term in office.
