Head coach of the Comoros national team, Stefano Cusin, has commended Ghana for their qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, praising the Black Stars for their quality, experience, and football heritage.

Cusin shared his thoughts during the post-match press conference following Comoros’ 1–0 defeat to Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium, a result that sealed the Black Stars’ place at next year’s global tournament to be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Ghana’s narrow victory — secured by a second-half strike from Mohammed Kudus — saw the team finish top of Group I, clinching their fifth World Cup appearance and their sixth consecutive qualification for the prestigious competition.

In his remarks, Cusin lauded Ghana’s pedigree and expressed confidence in their ability to make a strong impact at the tournament.

“You [Ghana] have wonderful players, you have history, you have experience, and everything — so I am sure you are going to make a great World Cup,” Cusin said.

While Ghana now shifts focus to preparations for the World Cup, Comoros will turn their attention to the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where they have been drawn in Group A alongside Morocco, Zambia, and Mali.
