Young Apostles FC have secured a historic qualification to the Ghana Premier League after defeating Techiman Heroes on penalties in a thrilling playoff game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Wenchi-based club faced winners of the Division One League Zone 1B, Techiman Heroes in the final hurdle for a ticket to play in the Ghanaian top-flight.
Apostles took an early lead through Kassim Sule when he dazzled past the back line of Techiman Heroes in the 8th minute.
However, Mohammed Adams leveled for Techiman Heroes before the end of the first half, sending the game into a penalty after no goal was produced in the second half and the thirty minutes of extra time.
Young Africans, along with Nsoatreman FC, Aduana Stars, Berekum Chelsea, and Bechem United, are now the fifth club from the Bono Ahafo Region to be included in the Ghana Premier League for the upcoming season.
On the other hand, after a subpar season, Bofoakwa Tano was demoted from the Ghana Premier League.
Vision FC have also qualified to play in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season's campaign after emerging as winners of zone three.
The winner of the Zone two is yet to determined following the protest filed against leaders, Basake Holy Stars by King Faisal FC ahead of the final round.
