After his re-election as the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has received a congratulatory message from CAF President Patrice Motsepe, who has praised him hugely for improving the Ghanaian game. 

The 52-year-old retained the big seat last Thursday at the GFA Elective Congress which was held at the Golden Dream Hotel in Northern Region's capital, Tamale.

He went unopposed after his direct competitor George Afriyie was disqualified by the Election Committee, and had 117 out of the total 119 votes casted by the delegates.

Kurt Okraku's tenure as the Ghana FA boss commenced in 2019, and has now earned himself another term which will be his final.

He's received wide range of goodwill messages after the win and the latest is from CAF President Patrice Motsepe, who feels Kurt deserves to continue to lead Ghana football since he's improved lots of things in his first stint and has wished him well heading into his final term.

"My dear Brother Kurt, it is my pleasure to express my most sincere congratulations to you on your re-election for four more years as President of the Ghana Football Association (“GFA”) which took place on Thursday 5 October 2023 in Tamale, Ghana," the statement read.

"Your re-election is an indication of your memberships’ trust and confidence in your leadership. You have done excellent work to promote and develop football in Ghana and on the African Continent. I wish you everything of the best during the new period of your leadership and look forward to seeing you again.’’

Kurt Okraku after the re-election, will now lead Ghana football until October 2027.
