With just one game to the end of the season, the nation's elite soccer division will bounce back into action this weekend after seeing Asante Kotoko crowned champions last Sunday in Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium.
Table-toppers Asante Kotoko will clash with 12th placed Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium in a must win match for the home team as they aim to finish the season on a good note and climb a little further on the league log without more fuss at the end of the match day.
Asante Kotoko with 66 points have been as impressive in the second round of the season as they were in the first, as they have disbursed three wins and one draw in a very good performance in their last four outings; one home win, two away wins and one away draw as they comfortably stepped on the road to stave off all challenges to their title aspirations which worked perfectly for them and they will on Saturday have the chance to wrap it all up at the Nations Wembley with a win over cellar dwellers Accra Lions.
The very impressive debutants - Accra Lions will be seeking to play spoilers and end Asante Kotoko’s party as well as avoiding a second straight road loss and boost their chances of ending the season in the top 10 bracket.
Fortunately for Lions, they have been able to replicate their stellar home performances abroad where they have been a torn in the flesh for the various teams as they have handed most of them, some quite number of unexpected results which they could not comprehend.
The Lions seem to have the upper hand by virtue of playing at home but Kotoko is capable of putting up a strong opposition given their exploits on the road, unless the recent coronation as champions has eaten up their skull and slowed them down a tad with vast complacency.
Expect a very competitive and nerve wracking game with the visitors having all the advantage against a highly motivated and desperate Accra Lions side that may just pull a surprise on them.
