Akyem Kotoku Royals will open their maiden betPawa Ghana Premier League campaign against Accra Lions on Sunday

Kotoku Royals will have their first taste of the Ghanaian top-flight after winning the Division One League Zone Three with sixty-three points last season.

The Eastern-regional side have beefed-up their technical team with the appointment of experienced Seth Ablade and Akakpo Patron as their head and assistant coaches respectively.

Coach Ablade has been tasked to atleast maintain their status in the betPawa Ghana Premier League for next season.

Unfortunately, the Oda stadium wasn't approved for their league matches and have adopted the Cape Coast stadium as their home venue.

Kotoku Royals will fight for victory against Accra Lions to start their season on a brighter note.

Kotoku Royals have reinforced their young squad with Wilson Kwabena, Tahir Mensah, Abdul Nasiru Mohammed, Ferdinand Sebi and other amazing youngsters.

Accra Lions finished twelfth, in their debut season, in the league last season with forty-eight points.

The Academy boys will hope to cement a mid-table finish this season, even though experienced players like Abdul Rashid Abubakar, Kelvin Kyei and Frederick Asare have been shipped out of the club.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko's side have been bolstered with the signings of Dennis Votere, Simpara Youssouf, Victor Azia, Elija Kwarah and Baba Salifu among others.

Accra Lions will hope to start this season on a good footing, with atleast, a-point from their game against Kotoku Royals.
