After a hiatus due to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the Ghana Premier League returns this weekend, much to the anticipation of football fans across the country.

In a highly anticipated fixture on Sunday, Karela United will face Legon Cities in week 18 of the Ghanaian top-flight at the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre in the Northern Region.

Karela United, currently struggling in the ongoing campaign, have relocated their home venue from the Aliu Mahama Stadium due to its poor condition. Finishing 17th with 17 points after 17 games in the first half of the season, they are eager to reverse their fortunes in the second half, starting with this weekend's clash.

Formerly based in Anyinase, Karela United suffered a 2-1 defeat in the first leg tie against Legon Cities at the El-Wak Stadium in September 2023 and are determined to secure maximum points on their new home turf.

Abdul Mumin’s side seeks a flying start to the second half of the season, but they face a tough challenge against Legon Cities, who are equally desperate for points. Currently in 9th place with 24 points, the Royals are determined to kick off the second round on a positive note.
