Karela United continue their battle against the drop when they face off against Medeama SC at Akoon Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Pride and Passion are two points adrift of safety and desperately need to close the gap to an Hearts of Oak side - lurking beneath them, with time fast running out to save themselves from relegation.
It has been two weeks since Abukari Damba’s men were last in action when they sustained a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of Dreams FC in Dawu, which could have major consequences for them on Sunday as the season comes to a closure with a visit to Tarkwa.
However, it was not to be and Damba’s men now face an uphill task following Hearts and Olympics vow that they will upsurge in form to avoid relegation back to the Division One League.
Head-to-head, the Yellow and Mauves recorded a blank 0-0 score line in the match between the teams earlier this season.
Over the course of history, Medeama have edged the fixture by claiming 4 wins compared to Karela’s 1, while 4 matches have ended in draws since 2018.
Abukari Damba’s men are in desperate need of the three points and have shown promise in their attacking play in recent weeks. Their problem has been keeping goals out, so the visit to the goal-shy Medeama could be just what they need in their survival battle to claim the three points.
KICKOFF: 15:00 GMT (3:00pm)
