Aiming to rebound and pick up where they left off before the international break, Kotoko resumed their Ghana Premier League bouncing back expedition away to Aduana on Sunday (November, 24) afternoon.
Red-faced Prosper Ogum’s men have lost four straight matches on a roll and have flew downwards to the 8th position (15 points) of the table after gameweek 11, where they were nailed to the cross by regional rivals Nations FC in an enthralling game last weekend at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
Match Preview
Nafiu Sulemana and Faisal Charwetey produced the telling contributions in a 2-0 win over the Porcupine Warriors.
On the other hand, one time GPL champions’ Aduana will be out, hoping to keep abreast to all the three maximum points on Sunday afternoon, but few will expect Kotoko to leave Agyemang Badu Stadium with anything less than a victory to show for their efforts in rebounding.
Here, Kickgh will crank the preview ahead of the intriguing clash between Kum-Apem and the Fire Boys, who sit 11th of the standings with 12 points.
Ogum has seamlessly not transitioned into his role properly in his reappointment at Kotoko, unable to maintain the high standards set by his predecessor, Seydou Zerbo. This season his approach has not been dynamic and disciplined, leading to Kotoko’s slumping in form in the league. The team lacks tactical flexibility and depth which have been a major factor in their uninspiring performance, and fans are eager to see how Ogum will manoeuvre his team against a typically resilient Aduana side whose home has been a fortress.
Aduana, while not at the same level on the table, has shown grit in their last four matches, drawing four and managing just one win and will look to capitalise on any slip-up by the visitors. They will need to be particularly wary of Kotoko’s quick transitions and the threat posed by their attackers, especially the fearless Albert “Agogo” Amoah.
Aduana Stars possible starting lineup:
Inusah (GK); Adams (C), Addo, Bamba, Boateng, Duah, Obeng, Sackey, Silas, Tetteh, Wakii
Asante Kotoko possible starting lineup:
Camara (GK), Ablorh, Amoah, Ansu, Asiedu, Baba, Dauda, Gilbani (C), Kyei B, Kyei M, Ntim
We say: Aduana 1-2 Asante Kotoko
As Aduana aims to pick up where they left off, Kotoko will be no easy hurdle. The match promises to be a tactical battle with both Yaw Acheampong and Ogum looking to outsmart the other. Fans can expect a thrilling encounter filled with strategic plays and high-energy football.
