Two gritty outfits collide at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Sunday’s Ghana Premier League battle, as Nations FC scrap it out with Berekum Chelsea.

The Abrankese side entered the international hiatus on the back of a stunning 2-0 win over Kotoko - prolonging their misery, while Samuel Boadu’s men fell to Bechem United last weekend.

Match Preview

Visiting a ground renowned for goal-laden classics in the current Ghana Premier League season, Nations FC helped to keep the Kwame Kyei Complex trend going during their showdown with Vision FC and Nsoatreman - winning both matches on a 3-0 scoreline, where six goals flew into the Tema Newtown based and Amanaso nets.

Berekum on the other hand have managed just one win, drawn one and lost three. The Bibires have extended a dampening run of form this season, who have only amassed four points in the five away games they have played in an opponent’s territory.

Head-to-head, never  before have the Bibires - who reside in 9th place in the Ghana Premier League table - won both top-flight meetings against Nations. B. Chelsea have won just one, with Nations thrashing them 3-0 in their last encounter in Abrankese.

By virtue of their sweet beating of Asante Kotoko, first-placed Nations are being kept on the summit with two points; the Bibires possess the best defensive record among the top 10 teams.

Nations FC possible starting lineup:
Sanon (GK) (C); Abrokwa, Alhassan, Badu, Boahene, Charwetey, Djangone, Grippman, Karim, Kuffour, Sulemana

Berekum Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Adu (GK); Abaidoo, Afriyie, Amankonah, Ameyaw; Asamoah, Badori, Fuseini Z (C), Gyau, Sarpong, Seidu

We say: Nations FC 3-1 Berekum Chelsea

The international break has the potential to harm both sides' offensive exploits, but their respective play styles should lead to plenty of goalmouth action for the home team at their own Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Both side’s inspire much confidence defensively, so we can envisage there’s going to be goals galore in an entertaining stalemate.
