Aduana Stars are back in Ghana Premier League action on Sunday afternoon as they take on Bechem United in Dormaa.
Kwaku Danso's title hopefuls enter this bout off the back of a bonkers matchday 18 contest in Bechem Park. The Hunters remarkably stole the contest with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Midfielder Isaiah Nyarko and forward Emmanuel Abban. Their place in the 6th pecking on the summit is not secured as they are tied on 30 points.
Match Preview
However, Aduana dropped more points in the Premier League last week as Bashir Hayford's Heart of Lions once again proved more than a nuisance, beating The Fire Boys 2-1 in Kpando. They have fallen even further behind leaders Asante Kotoko - trailing them by 16 points despite changing their coach this season.
Bechem looked vastly improved under coach Kwaku Danso, who was appointed in September 2024. The historically grand traditional club was being woefully run by their previous gaffer.
Sunday's hosts are marked and might be ensconced in the relegation zone, but their performances since Cioba Aristica took over have not been a point towards a resurgent outfit. They have won one, drawn two and lost twice in their last five matches.
Aduana possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Inusah (GK); Adams (C), Addo, Bamba, Boateng, Duah, Obeng, Sackey, Silas, Tetteh, Wakii
Bechem United possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Aziz (GK) (C), Abban, Abdulai, Acheampong, Acquah, Mensah A.A, Nyarko, Owusu C, Owusu E, Tompuo, Yeboah
We say: Aduana Stars - Aduana 1-2 Bechem
Bechem have shown that their apex is untouchable this season, but a couple of side's have had little success against Danso's team this season. Thus, there's scope for an improving Aduana team to nick a result in their own' Dormaa.
Aristica is pushing to restore some order to a slumping outfit, and they will make this game competitive. The visitors, at the moment, don't look like they are containing anyone.
Bechem forced Aduana to share blank spoils with them back in September, and will it be a similar story this weekend? Well, let's wait and see after 5pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
