After Bechem United emphatically ended their four games without a loss run last weekend, Nations FC will host Young Apostles as they make the 2 hr 40 min (119.5 km) trip down to Abrankese in their hosts bid to return to winning ways in the matchday 19 fixture.
The Kwame Kyei Boys were stunned by Kwaku Danso's Hunters in the mid-afternoon kick-off last weekend as Isaiah Nyarko and Emmanuel Abban struck the beauties for Bechem in the home win. Before that, Kassim Mingle's men had won three and drawn one in their last four matches.
Match Preview
Despite falling to fourth in the Premier League table, Nations FC are well in the mix to claim a top-four spot. They've also got a great opportunity to dash their demons from last Sunday against the league's 11th-placed outfit.
Apostles have won two, drawn one and lost one under Abdul Bashiru. The Agya Na ƆwƆ Tumi Boys have arguably been more competitive under the journeyman young Ghanaian coach, but their 21-point haul through 16 games means they require a miracle to remain in the Premier League.
Nations FC possible starting lineup (5-3-2):
Sanon (GK) (C); Abrokwa, Alhassan, Badu, Boahene, Charwetey, Djangone, Grippman, Karim, Kuffour, Sulemana
Young Apostles possible starting lineup (4-3-3):
Ofosu (GK), Aboubakar, Afram, Amegbe, Huseine, Kontor, Lomotey, Muftaw, Bortey, Rahman, Suleiman Abu (C)
We say: Nations FC 3 - 1 Young Apostles
Young Apostles performances under Bashiru haven't been so dire, with a commonsensical approach allowing The Agya Na ƆwƆ Tumi to be more competitive. In their previous two outings, they came close to securing the three points against Bechem United but had to split points, before fighting to stun Nsoatreman 1-0 at home.
The players haven't given up quite yet, and Nations FC, off the back of a convincing defeat, must be wary. They can't coast through Sunday's game.
However, the Agya Na ƆwƆ Tumi simply don't know how to pluck the three maximum points convingsingly. They may compete fiercely against the hosts here, but Nations, having finally enjoyed the week, should be able to dust off the cobwebs and win at home.
