Asante Kotoko SC have reportedly begun discussions with Maxwell Konadu over a possible return as head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Porcupine Warriors are searching for a new gaffer after the resignation of Karim Zito. His departure was followed by another change, with interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu also stepping down.
Youth team coach Abdul Gazale has now been placed in temporary charge for the rest of the current season.
Reports say the club’s leadership is now considering long-term options, with Konadu emerging as a strong candidate for the job.
Konadu, who is currently in charge of the Ghana national under-20 football team, has previously managed Kotoko in two separate stints and could now return for a third spell.
Grapevine sources suggest the club’s three-member board is still deciding between hiring a foreign coach or appointing Konadu, who is seen as the leading local option.
Konadu is said to be open to a return if talks go well and an agreement is reached.
