The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the prize money for teams taking part in the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, with a total of $715,000 set aside for the competition.
Under the new payment plan, the team that wins the tournament will receive $125,000, which is about GH₵1.38 million.
The team that finishes second will earn $90,000 for reaching the final.
Each of the two losing semi-finalists will receive $60,000, while teams knocked out at the quarter-final stage will be guaranteed $50,000.
CAF also confirmed payments for teams that do not progress beyond the group stage.
Teams that finish third in their groups will receive $25,000, while those that end bottom of their groups will take home $20,000.
