Aduana are aiming to put to an end their woeful Premier League slump when they face Bibiani Goldstars in Dormaa Ahenkro on Sunday afternoon.
Last weekend's away stalemate to Dreams FC represented another lowest moment in a bitterly disappointing season for the Fire Boys, although a semblance of hope could return to Nana Agyemang Badu Park after Sunday's crunch slit-off against Goldstars.
Match Preview
On the other hand, Goldtstars failure in the FA Cup has plunged head coach Frimpong Manso into discomfort, but Goldstars simply have to start picking up points in the Premier League to avoid getting sucked beneath the top-four scrap. They currently sit 2nd with 37 points.
Goldstars haven't had to enjoy the rigours of Ghana football in the new year, and have seen their form complete a U-turn in recent weeks. Once formidable at home and inconsistent on the road. Meanwhile, the Fire Boys are unbeaten in two games and haven't claimed victory against Goldstars since 21st April, 2024.
Their up-and-down form means they sit uncomfortably in 13th, with their chances of claiming an African berth impossible.
Aduana possible starting lineup (4-3-3):
Inusah (GK); Adams (C), Addo, Bamba, Boateng, Duah, Obeng, Sackey, Silas, Tetteh, Wakii
Bibiani Goldstars possible starting lineup (4-3-3):
Kobi (GK), Adje, Amankwah, Atungah (C), Kumi, Kyereh, BosomtwI, Dankyi, Gyamfi, Nkoah, Oppong.
We say: Aduana 2 - 2 Bibiani Goldstars
Sunday afternoon was a feel-good outing for Goldtstars, who desperately needed it after succumbing to a good lower tier Attram De Visser team in the last three weeks. They didn't have to exert themselves too much either, and Michael Nkoah's impact goal was the killer-instinct.
Goldstars seem better placed to compete with an awkward Aduana team this weekend compared to weeks ago, and the Fire Boys' recent draw away from home may be of some concern for Cioba Aristica.
The hosts' commonsensical and realistic approach regularly troubles the big boys, and although Goldstars have functioned like anything but one of the division's best this season, Aduana will still have the bit between their teeth to topple a so-called 'top four' member. Many will back the Fire Boys to prevail here, but the Gye Nyame lads attackers could be enough to earn the visitors a point. They can frustrate you when you least expect it.
