Berekum Chelsea hope their resurgence under Samuel Boadu continues for their visit to struggling Legon Cities to University of Ghana Stadium.
The Bibires have tasted successive victories over Accra Lions and Northern City to lift them to the 8th spot and qualify to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, and a promising away fixture against the Royals could see them extend their winning run.
Match Preview
Legon Cities are one of the lowest scorers in the Premier League this season but did produce three in the matchday 17 home match against Dreams FC.
Dreams FC proved weak opponents for Cities on that day. Joachim Yaw Acheampong's side dinked home thanks to goals from Fredrick Akatuk, Frank Akoto and Raymond Agyemang, as they tasted their first victory - having lost five on a roll in the league since mid-November.
Legon Cities possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Honu (GK), Akatuk, Akoto (C), Alidu, J. Amoah, Asamoah, Gyesi, Opoku Nti, Quartey, Suraje, Yeboah
Berekum Chelsea possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Sekyere (GK), Abaidoo, Acheampong, Afriyie, Amankonah, Ameyaw, Asamoah, Z. Fuseini (C), Awuah, Badori, Seidu
We say: Legon Cities 1 - 0 Berekum Chelsea
These two sides have scored a combined 37 goals in 24 Ghana Premier League games this season and there's unlikely to be a flurry of goal-mouth action in Bono Region this weekend. Only two teams have conceded fewer than the Royals this term, too, with Berekum Chelsea's often uninspiring forward line likely to find creating chances difficult.
Legon Cities have the elements in their favour and home advantage, potentially helping them secure an important and hard-fought victory. Injuries will cause Yaw Acheampong issues but he has reinvigorated the Royals since his appointment and could punish Berekum Chelsea - who were linked with him before appointing Samuel Boadu.
