Gold Stars are determined to make it two wins in a row in the ongoing Ghana Premier League as they host unbeaten Basake Holy Stars at the Dun’s Park on Sunday for a week three clash.
The Bibiani-based side, who defeated Legon Cities in their season opener, missed week two due to FC Samartex's involvement in the CAF Champions League.
Now, they face the newly promoted Holy Stars, who have already impressed with four points from six - stunning Hearts of Oak and securing a goalless draw against last season’s CAF Confederation Cup semi-finalists, Dreams FC.
MATCH PREVIEW
Gold Stars have had the longer period of rest after their match week 2 fixture against Samartex was postponed due to continental assignment.
They will be aiming to bag their second straight win of the season when they entertain the Premier League new boys at home.
However, Basake Holy Stars won't be pushovers after picking four points from their opening two matches. They beat giants Hearts of Oak in Accra and drew goalless at home to Dreams FC.
They will hope to continue with that impressive form on Sunday in Bibiani. The New Boys are yet to concede a goal in the league and are currently 5th on the league table.
