Bibiani Goldstars will be welcoming Bechem United to Dun's Park for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League match-week five fixture on Sunday.

The Miners have had a perfect start in this season's campaign, entering the match-week without a defeat, while Bechem United is facing setbacks after an impressive performance last season.

Match Preview

Bibiani Goldstars, who are yet to taste a defeat in the Premier League, are looking forward to extending their unbeaten streak when they square off with the Hunters over the weekend.

Coach Frimpong Manso's side have regrouped for the all-important game in Bibiani after making a trip to Samreboi to hold their Western Region rivals FC Samartex—defending champions—to a 1-1 draw in a match-week two outstanding game on Wednesday.

Defender Kelvin Oppong netted a 75th-minute leveller to deny FC Samartex from securing three maximum points at the Nsenkyire Sports Stadium to maintain their perfect start in the Premier League.

Frimpong Manso, in a pre-match interview ahead of the game, stated that his side will not be complacent in Sunday's game, describing Bechem United as a very good side with technically gifted players who can cause havoc.

He also recounted how the one-time Ghana FA champions held them to a one-all draw in Bibiani last season and reiterated capitalizing on home supremacy for a victory.

Meanwhile, Bechem United has had a torrid start in the ongoing season after failing to record a win in their first three matches until their 1-0 win over Dreams FC last weekend at home.

Coach Kwaku Danso, who returned to the club after leaving to pursue his teaching career in 2020, has been under intense pressure following the club's poor start in this campaign.

Danso felt relieved after their slim win over Dreams FC and is assured of securing a positive result in Bibiani despite its being a difficult venue for Bechem United.

Since Bibiani Goldstars earned promotion to the Premier League, Bechem United has only picked a draw in their three visits to the Dun's Park and suffered two defeats.

Team News

Bibiani Goldstars duo Stephen Banahene and Appiah McCarthy will continue to miss their fifth game of the season as both are nursing injuries sustained before the start of the season.

Goalkeeper Yaw Osei remains unfit to return to the match-day squad of the Bibiani-based club despite returning to training last week.

Coach Frimpong Manso will be counting on Samuel Attah Kumi, Humin-Dafie, Ronald Frimpong, and others as his attacking options.

Bechem United will be missing Francis Twene, who has been sidelined with a knee injury.

However, the club's legendary attacker Augustine Okrah will be part of the team, hoping to open his season's goal-scoring account for Bechem United since rejoining them after an unsuccessful spell at Young Africans SC in Tanzania.
