Young Apostles 3-1 demolition over Heart of Lions on Sunday threw the Premier League title race into disarray, as Lions season took a sharp turn for the worse.
This defeat put Lions title hopes in serious jeopardy, with Nations FC and other contenders vying for the lead.
Apostles rose to the occasion as they produced a terrific performance on Sunday with a blistering output inspired by midfielder Samuel Prempeh's opener after 600 seconds (10 minutes) at the Wenchi Stadium.
The hosts went ahead to score two more goals in the 16th and 19th minutes, respectively, through forward Foster Sakitey, and Huseine Issah firing in a good drive which swaggered through Lions leaky defence to put the seal on a masterful display.
Former Liberty Professionals midfielder' Seedorf Asante hauled Lions level soon before half-time with his first goal in the top flight this season.
After recess both sides struck gilt-edged opportunities went flying off-target from, mostly, close range.
Apostles have 40 points from 32 games, while Heart of Lions are a distant fourth with 54 points. Leaders Nations FC on 60 from 32.
Lions have now won one in the two league meetings with Apostles as their five-game undefeated run in the top flight came to a brutal end.
