Basake Holy Stars clinched a hard-fought 1-0 win against FC Samartex at CAM Park on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

The premier league debutants scored in the first half and defended their narrow lead to claim their second consecutive home victory.

The victory over the defending champions propelled Abdulai Gazale’s side to 10th place on the league standings with 15 points.

Meanwhile, FC Samartex, who have now suffered two consecutive defeats, dropped to 8th place with 17 points, trailing league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by 6 points.

Looking ahead, Nurudeen Amadu’s team will aim to bounce back as they host the in-form Heart of Lions.

On the other hand, Holy Stars will seek to maintain their momentum as they prepare to host fellow newcomers, Young Apostles.
