Medeama extended their winning streak with a dominant performance against Young Apostles in their first-ever top-flight clash at the Wenchi Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The victory, their second in a row, propelled them into the top four and reignited their hopes of contending for the league title.

Derrick Fordjour opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a precise finish, adding to his season tally of three goals. Throughout the match, Medeama controlled the game’s pace, capitalizing on Young Apostles’ errors and keeping the hosts under pressure.

Midfielder Prince Owusu doubled the lead in the 56th minute, sealing a crucial three points for the visitors. Young Apostles, struggling in their inaugural Premier League season, suffered their fifth loss in 12 games, with only one win in their last five matches.

Despite their strong home record, Young Apostles couldn’t match Medeama’s dominance and remain in 12th place in the league standings. Medeama, buoyed by this victory, will aim to continue their winning form as they prepare to face Vision FC after the general elections.

On the other hand, Young Apostles will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming match against Basake Holy Stars.
