Medeama SC recorded a precious 1-0 win over Accra Lions at the new TNA Stadium to set their 2024/25 football season ablaze in the last fixture of Ghana Premier League match-day one. 

Both teams made a very good start to the game with Lions playing with so much confidence like they were the home side resulting into an even exchanges in the opening twenty minutes.

Medeama SC despite the close encounter, ensured they were always on top and made some decent incursions but wasn't enough to get them the opener as it finished goalless at half time. 

Back from recess, just ten minutes from the break, Medeama SC were awarded a penalty after an Accra Lions player handled the ball in the box.

Osah Bernadinho Tetteh took responsibility, stepped up and converted nicely to finally break the deadlock of the game.

The Blue-Blacks did all they could with series of attacks in search of the leveller as Kesse came so close to scoring from Remember Boateng's cross but the situation was checked by goalkeeper Appiah Kubi.

It finished 1-0 in the end for the Mauves and Yellows, who will travel to Legon Cities while Accra Lions will welcome newbies Vision FC in the next round of matches.
